Museum Voorlinden in Wassenaar hosted one of its most unusual exhibitions to date: Sweet Memories by artist and designer Simone Post.
The room-filling installation was built entirely from candy. Marshmallows, sugar strings and sweet garlands came together to recreate the artist's childhood home, complete with a bunk bed, soft toys, a kitchen and her mother's rattling sewing atelier. Visitors stepped into a tender, dreamlike world that looked and smelled good enough to eat.
Creating the right atmosphere required carefully controlled museum lighting. Every fixture was connected using LTECH Bluetooth Mesh lighting, allowing wireless commissioning, smooth LED dimming and precise control throughout the Sweet Memories exhibition at Museum Voorlinden.
An installation this fragile asks a lot of its lighting. Soft pastel colors, translucent sugar and an intimate scale all depend on light that is gentle, precise and perfectly balanced. The LED strips lining the shelves, kitchen, sewing room and garden were powered by the LM-75-24-G1B2 Bluetooth Mesh LED driver, providing reliable wireless control and smooth dimming throughout the exhibition.
SE-20-100-700-W1B Bluetooth Mesh CC Smart Driver
The fixed and adjustable downlights, along with the ceiling spotlights, were powered by SE-20-100-700-W1B Bluetooth Mesh cc smart drivers, allowing every fixture to be dimmed individually.
With every driver connected to a single wireless mesh network, the entire installation became one fully controllable lighting scene.
One App, Perfect Harmony
Achieving the perfect balance required no ladders, rewiring or complicated adjustments.
Using the LTECH app or the wall-mounted Super Panel 6S touch panel on site, the curator could fine-tune every light point until the entire room felt perfectly balanced. Smooth, soft dimming across every channel kept the lighting comfortable and even, exactly as a fragile sugar world demands.
And because everything operated on Bluetooth Mesh, the scene could be adjusted at any moment, completely wirelessly.
